We believe everyone has something to contribute—and nourishing our neighbors takes more than just flour and ovens. If you love our mission and want to donate your time in ways other than baking, we would welcome your support.
Below are several opportunities to roll up your sleeves and help us rise—no apron required.
Join a packing session at Flour Central
Each month, we host a variety of packing sessions to prepare the ingredients that fuel our bakers! These events last 2 hours and are a great chance to connect with our energetic volunteer community.
- Flour Packing – Help portion the flour we buy in bulk into 5-lb bags for our bakers to purchase at a significant savings through our Flour Fundraiser.
- Energy Cookie Base Packing – Assist with mixing, scooping, and portioning our Energy Cookie base.
Assist Your Hub Leader
Each of our hubs is managed by a dedicated volunteer who coordinates donation drop-offs, answers baker questions, and liaises with food bank partners.
You can lend a hand by:
- Greeting and organizing bakers on donation days
- Helping with reminder communications
- Setting up tables or signage
It’s a wonderful way to meet other volunteers and contribute in a social, supportive setting.
Become a Doughnation Angel
Our Doughnation Angels are the cheerleaders of our baking brigade. They send kind e-notes each month to congratulate bakers on their baking milestones and badges earned. Their efforts help keep our community connected and feeling appreciated. This is a low-time, high-impact way to nurture your fellow bakers.
Drive a Truck
Do you have a driver's license and some free time? We can sometimes use help with:
- Delivering orders on our Flour Truck route - must be 25 years of age to drive the U-Haul truck
- Picking up supplies from Cairnspring Mills
- Sometimes, you'll see available driving shifts listed on the Volunteer Tasks page. If you're interested in becoming one of our regular drivers, please reach out!
Join Our Tech Team
If you're a tech or data whiz, you can be a significant support to our small but mighty team!
Have a unique skill or idea. Do you think I can help in other ways?
Absolutely! We welcome creativity and initiative. Past volunteers have:
- Taken photos for events and social media
- Recruited new bakers at community events
- Written articles for local publication
If you have a talent to share, we’d love to hear about it!
