You may have an existing relationship with a food bank, perhaps as a volunteer, board member, or other role. If so, great! We will work with you to make sure your food bank is a good fit for Community Loaves partnership and get them on-boarded.
If you do not have a relationship with a food bank, don't worry! We will coach you on best practices and provide materials to support you in finding a food bank partner. The Community Loaves team will guide you through the process, but you know your community best and you will need to be the feet on the ground to make it happen.
Our requirements for our food bank partners are:
- they can accept donations on Mondays
- they distribute to clients without placing any burdens of faith, lifestyle, need, etc.
- they serve at least 50 clients per week
Most Community Loaves hubs donate to traditional food banks or food pantries. However, this partnership could look different depending on your local community's needs. Perhaps your "food bank" partner will be a soup kitchen, a homeless shelter, a senior center, or something similar. These are acceptable, as long as they meet the above requirements.
