To start - Just one! Many of our hubs begin with just one baker who also acts as hub leader, but they tend to grow from there. Sometimes all it takes is one person planting a flag in a location to begin something truly amazing in a community. New bakers will join in a number of ways -
- You will probably share news of the exciting new thing you're doing with friends and neighbors, either in conversation or on social media and they will also want to get on board!
- Volunteers at the food bank will get curious about these new donations and may be interested in joining the baking team.
- People who hear about Community Loaves through news articles, word of mouth, etc. will be able to find and join your hub when they create their profile with Community Loaves.
- We also have a number of promotional materials to help hub leaders recruit more bakers to the cause, and are always happy to help with this!
No matter where they come from, you'll be surprised at how many bakers will rise to the occasion of reducing food insecurity in your community.
